Description
When a match ends, the game abruptly freezes for a moment to load the intermission music, during which time the sound may be looping, and this is also very surprising to the user.
I recommend we don't change music track in intermission.

Apparently caused by running off a Samba share or another slow disk... anyway, I propose changing the intermission track to a short some-seconds loop, like Quake 2 did.

I don't really understand why there is an intermission track... I'm perfectly happy with the main level music.
The loading time should be negligible on a local disk after the first time, it's only a major problem on windows shares.

I'm now doing that experiment of setting sv_intermission_cdtrack to "", which will cause no intermission track to be switched to.
Let's see if anyone complains on my server.

As nobody complained it, apparently we don't need an intermission cdtrack. Removed it.
On the other hand, I'd like something like UT's "you have lost the match" vs "congratulations, you're the winner" announcer at the end of the match. Keeping the bug open to remind that we need this sound.

I rather liked the intermission track, though it can be kept in autoexec.cfg for who misses it. And yeah such an announcer would be an awesome idea... for non-team games "you have lost / won the match" and for team games "(color) team wins the match" :)

The music of the map votation is pretty cool, but if it causes this problem, better to remove it.
With a short track that loads faster the intermission music should be ok, better if after an announcement.
So for me: annoncement + soft background music (maybe all in one?).

Not suggesting this to be re-added right again, but a good solution would be precaching the intermission music when the map loads (or when the game starts) so the song won't need to be loaded at the end of each match.
Brainsukker is a good intermission song, but a better one especially for that would be nice as well. I think the intermission song is a special thing representing Nexuiz, and a good way to bring it back should probably be found sometime (as terencehill said, together with the announcers that would be sound awesome).
